March is here, and with it, we embrace Women's History Month—a time to honor the remarkable women who have paved the way, lifted us, and shown us what's possible when we say YES to ourselves, our dreams, and our purpose. It's a celebration that we all, as a community, are part of, a time when our collective strength and resilience shine brightly.

The Power of YES

Saying YES has transformed my life. I said yes to myself, new possibilities, and the unknown. And now, look at God—I am officially a morning show host on WURD Radio 900 AM & 96.1 FM, Monday through Friday, 6-7 AM! This platform allows me to blend soulful music, wellness, and meaningful conversations, sharing wisdom and light with our community. It's a testament to the power of saying YES, a power that each of us holds within us, waiting to be unleashed.

Tune in, stream, and be part of the movement—because when we rise, we rise together!

Sisterhood in Action

This past week, I witnessed the beauty of community and sisterhood at the Cherry Hill Public Library—what a phenomenal turnout! We gathered, shared, and connected, and the energy was undeniable. Even the Mayor came out to support! This is the power of sisterhood in action, a force that uplifts and empowers us all. From Bitter to Better: A Chocolate Momma's Journey to Self-Discovery was a smash at the Cherry Hill Public Library. Next is the Burlington Author's Book Festival, a prestigious event that celebrates authors and their works and will be my largest audience yet. I am also planning a couple of in-person activations for the spring/summer, including a wellness retreat and a community wellness empowerment workshop with Penn Museum, which aim to provide a space for personal growth and connection. Stay tuned for details, and always join me virtually on the mat.

Honoring a Legend

We also say farewell to the incomparable Roberta Flack, who transitioned at the age of 88. Her music was more than just a soundtrack to my life—it was a source of strength, inspiration, and empowerment. Unapologetically bold, Black, and beautiful, she reminded us to tell our stories, embrace our voices, and love out loud. Her legacy will continue to inspire us, shaping the way we tell our stories and the way we love.

Wellness Transition: Meditation, Movement & Tea

As we shift toward warmer days, let's realign with our bodies and embrace intentional movement:

  • Meditation: Take a moment to inhale deeply, exhale fully, and embrace the beauty of new beginnings.
  • Affirmation: I welcome change and a new season with grace and strength.
  • Stretch: Let's open our hearts with Camel Pose (Ustrasana)—a deep backbend to expand the chest, release tension, and embrace openness.
  • Tea: Sip on peppermint tea to refresh and soothe as the seasons shift.

Birthday Blessings & Resting in Grace

March 1 marks another twirl around the planet for me, and I am beyond grateful. This year, I am listening to my body, prioritizing rest, and embracing the divine rhythm of my journey as I navigate this new role as a morning show host. This role requires a new level of discipline, balance, and self-care, as I need to be at my best every morning to bring you the best content. But I welcome it all. Look at God—you never knowwhat's next!

Sisters, let's keep saying YES. To ourselves. To our dreams. To each other. The world is waiting.

With love & chocolate,

Karen
